Prophesying Personally

Prophesying means to speak the words of God.  There are different forms and manners of speaking God’s word.  This study will deal with speaking God’s words to bring direction to my life.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21

This is called the creative power of the tongue.  What comes out of my mouth it has the power with in it (inherently) to create or bring to me that which I am speaking.

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:11

Your spoken words will set the direction of your life.  James 3:4 speaks of our tongues like a rudder of a ship.  It is small but can steer a great ship.  James also talks about “who can control the tongue” for out of it flow blessing and cursing.

The way to “control” the tongue is to change what’s in the heart.

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”  Matthew 12:35

The question becomes, what are we putting (sowing) into our hearts?

Is it the problem I am facing or is it the promises of God?  This is why the Promise Book App can be so powerful.  With it I can find out what God says about something instantaneously.

My words create (become) my reality.  What I speak is like a magnet to draw whatever that is, to me.  Is what I am speaking what I really want?  Am I speaking just what I see with my natural eyes or am I speaking what I see in heaven with my spiritual eyes.

Do we need to put a guard over our mouths?

Job knew this all too well!

“For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And, what I dreaded has happened to me.”Job 3:25

When I experience a problem or challenge in my life, do I make it bigger or smaller by my words?  Instead of talking about the mountain, I need to speak to the mountain.  In Ezekiel 37, God told Ezekiel to speak to the valley of dry bones.  And a great army arose.

As a son of God, He is looking for those He can co-labor with Him in the earth today to see His kingdom come and His will be done.  He has chosen us to be His mouthpiece, His hands and feet in the earth today.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.  John 14:12

Often, we look at our own abilities or that of others to bring solution to situations.  Let’s begin to practice looking to God and His ability, His will.  If we will, I believe words like can’t, never, won’t, impossible, no way, isn’t, not and don’t will occupy less of our vocabulary.  And we will see more of the kingdom of God in our personal lives.  God is desperate for us to experience His love and kingdom.  What comes out of our mouths goes a long way in seeing “His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Dare to declare today His promises and see His glory manifested in your life!
